Performing Solutions is not only our claim: it is how, every day, we strive for outstanding performance by offering innovative solutions through the entire aluminium die casting process.
A different approach
Our commitment is more than producing aluminium die case parts for the automative industry, it is to develop exceptional solutions, designed exclusively for each client, for each part, in a process that starts with our team of senior planning eEngineers, passed on to our experts in the tooling department, where state of the art moulds are produced and finishes with the shop floor operators who ensure that the die cast process culminates in high quality parts being manufactured.

Our Board
The Board
Since 1989 our Board has been working fiercely to establish and position the Schmidy Light Metal Group as a major player in the Portuguese Automotive Industry. Since the beginning we have proudly produced components for automobiles, all over the world. This only been possible because of the clear vision of our directors and their desire to pursue excellence. They are the ones who shape the future and make it happen, acting as role models with their values and ethics and inspiring trust at all times. This is their shared vision, their shared commitment, their shared knowledge. They know that success comes from hard work, from developing a stakeholder focused strategy that is then put into action into every decision made.

30 Years
30th Anniversary
On the 23rd of November 1989, the organisation that we proudly call Schmidt Light Metal Group was born. Thirty years have passed and as we celebrate this milestone we also prepare for the future in this famous VUCA (you need to spell out VUCA) world, that shifts at the speed of light.
To all the clients and stakeholders, many of whom have witnessed our history unroll, we would like to thank you for the trust placed in us.
This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication of a great team of people, from the first 8 in 1989 to the 590 that today come through our gates to bring this dream to life. They are the true, unsungheroes of our story.
